FAQ

General

Yes. Our products are made by hand, which means small variations in colour, print, texture and finish are part of the process. No two pieces are exactly alike, and that's rather the point.

Each collection starts with a raw material and follows it through the people, processes and places that turn it into something useful and beautiful. Our first collection explores cotton (khadi & mulmul), alongside wax, dye, paper and traditional craft techniques.

Batik is a textile technique that uses wax and dye to create patterns on fabric. Wax is applied to areas that are intended to resist the dye, creating the distinctive layered designs you see across our collection.

We work with skilled artists and makers in India, building relationships around their existing knowledge and ways of making.

We want to understand the people and processes behind an object, not just the finished thing.

Yes. We make small batches rather than mass-producing. Each collection is made with a group of artists and makers, in a particular place and at a particular moment.

When it's gone, it's gone.

Each piece is a little snapshot of that collaboration, a moment captured in a much bigger story.

You're buying the object, but you're also supporting the work around it. Our product sales help us continue exploring raw materials, working with makers, artists and funding research into new regenerative materials through LUCAtech. Learn more about us here.
